More than a Biography, a Living Archive
Dietrich Fritz Gerstel was born in Berlin during the First World War with a physical condition that doctors of the time considered limiting. Nevertheless, his life became a testimony of resilience, crossing continents, wars, and historical transformations.
This digital museum preserves handwritten letters dating back to 1920, official documents from three countries, family photographs spanning four generations, and testimonies from an era that changed the world. Each piece has been carefully selected to tell not only the story of one man, but of an entire era.
